The congregation of Knockando, Elchies and Archiestown has been supporting Brave Nyasulu in Kayezi, Malawi for a number of years now. Brave is now a young adult but the congregation continues to support his community through World Vision.
Information from Kayezi via World Vision over the time the congregation has been contributing has included the building of a school; the provision of a borehole which means children can wash and also have clean drinking water, and the introduction of a programme of immunisation for children who used to get sick due to various diseases. A mother has described how her children used to suffer from malnutrition until she joined a dairy farming programme which provides milk for the family as well as selling milk to pay for her family’s needs. World Vision has also campaigned for Children’s rights so that child labour is outlawed and they are working towards ending the traditional practice of forced child marriages.
Through World Vision the congregation is playing its small part in trying to make better lives for the people and children of Kayezi. We pray that God will bless the endeavours of all who try to improve the lives of those who are so much less fortunate than ourselves.
